A 1963 book by Ovid Demaris and Ed Reid,[1] it tells the story of Las Vegas's dark underbelly. It discusses mobsters, prostitution and political influence peddling.

Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, Gus Greenbaum and Benny Binion are amongst the well-known characters who make an appearance in its pages. An important contribution to the early history of the Las Vegas, the time prior to the transition from gangster-control to control by large corporations.
